For auld lang syne

I'm not getting a good start on the blog in 2014... totally slacking and didn't even realize that I hadn't put up photos from NYE! New Years Eve was wonderful, we shared a great meal with friends, laughed, danced and drank a lot of bubbly. Butcher & Singer did not disappoint; the aged rib eye melts in your mouth, the stuffed hashed browns are ridiculous, and the desserts were heavenly.

We started with some appetizers and champagne cocktails at our place and then headed down to Center City for a classy dinner.
The restaurant just oozes 60s era charm. It makes you want to put on a cute dress (or suit for the guys) and drink whisky straight up, and wear your finest dinner gloves. We indulged in oysters on the half shell, calamari, wedge salads, red meat and a bunch of sides. We shared our high and low points of 2013 and some sappy sentiments about how blessed we felt to have such great friends (which is true, but still cheesy.)
At midnight we were showered with balloons and given some champs to toast.
Then things started to get weird.

We took a little dancing break to scarf down some carrot cake, baked Alaska, and a super-moist chocolate cake.
Then we headed back to Manayunk to meet up with some more friends and share a few drinks to ring in the new year!
