Lakeside relaxation with my oldest friend

I'm a little late on this post, but that's only because I was waiting for some photos from Ms. Lindsey to post on the blog here. You'll see them at the end. It wouldn't be the same without them.

First, I need to introduce you to Ms. Lindsey. She has been my friend since middle school! The unfortunate thing about this chick right here, is that she lives half way around the world from me. I'm very sad just thinking about it. For the past, what is it, five years off and on? Lindsey has been working as a journalist in Cairo. (Check out her blog here and her newest business venture here

You can imagine this is a prime time to be a journalist in Egypt, with all the political happenings. But it's a scary time for her family and friends stateside that are hoping and praying that she stays out of harms way.

Well, long story short, Lindsey reached out to me at the beginning of July to tell me that she was going to be making a trip back to the U.S. for a few weeks at the end of July. Her family has a camp up on Lake George in New York and she would be spending some time there and then visiting some friends in Boston. So naturally, we planned for a weekend visit where BryGuy and I would go and visit her at the camp.

The camp is totally beautiful and rustic. It's located on the Northern end of Lake George and in a little bay that means the water is calm and warmer than the rest of the lake. We also borrowed the neighbor's boat and ventured out into the crystal clear waters to explore the lake and catch some rays.
The girls prepped dinner - a feast of ribs, sweet potato fries, salad, apple sauce, beans, and fresh bread. Oh, and homemade margaritas! While the boys smoked cigars and enjoyed some beers on the deck.

After dinner, some more friends joined us up at the camp and we had a night full of margaritas, home brewed beer, wine, and board games! The photo below is from the morning after our wonderful game night. That combination of beverages might explain why we're not looking so hot.

After breakfast we ventured out on the boat, and indulged in some tubing. Well I didn't, but Bry did.

Now you see him...

Now you don't...

It was such a relaxing trip and always wonderful to see my bestie. I miss her so much. However, she has a trip planned to come back again in December so it always makes it easier when I know I'll get to see her face again soon. Love you and miss you already Linds!
